My name is Lynne Sydenham, and I have owned Web Stitch since late 2006 and operate from my workroom/office at home. We supply retailers and have a distributor to service the tourist outlets throughout New Zealand so our products can be found in many outlets around the country as well as on our website. During the summer season we have a retail stall at our local Paparoa Marae, in Te Puna, Tauranga, where coaches bring tourists from the cruise ships for a Maori cultural experience.
I am never happier than when pottering in my workroom. A stitcher from an early age, any textile craft has interested me, loving to experiment whenever time allows. I have cupboards bursting with my stash and UFO’s. With my girls now grown up, what better way to spend my time than running a business incorporating my hobby. I also work for my husband, Francis, doing the accounts for his motor vehicle dealership.
Amber, my daughter, who lives at home, is studying Law. She helps with getting the orders into the post, doing a bit of computer work and generally helping out, including assisting at the retail stall held at the marae, and looking after the business while I’m away.
